AWLC members are diverse and so are their interests, which makes them so much fun to be around. But, we also like to work hard and plant the seeds for greater things.
You may not know that the renown Noche de Arte, the Lima Women's Chorale and Floralies are institutions that actually started as AWLC interest groups.

Book Reading Groups
We are very proud of our Book Groups as they are our flagship activity outside of our monthly Meetings and Outings.
They meet once a month, and the format of each of the Book Groups reflects the style and interests of their members.
From a morning 'Tea Party' with the Mad Hatters, in rotating locations; an afternoon of 'Coffee & Scones' with the San Isidro group; or, an evening of 'Wine & Dinner" in Monterrico, we keep things flexible and creative.
We currently have three book clubs:
The Mad Hatters Book Club: Meetings held the 3rd Friday of each month at 10:30am
San Isidro / Miraflores Book Group: Meetings held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 3:00 - 5:00 pm
Evening Book Group: Meetings held on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 7:00 - 9:00pm
Lima Tertulia Writers
This group traditionally meets once a week in local cafes to discuss their writing (fiction, poetry, memoir). Currently they are meeting virtually. Open to any AWLC members, who love writing, published or not.
Outings
From a visit to the beach, to the International Potato Center, we regularly organize outings for our AWLC members, and on occasion, their friends and family.
Outings are usually held monthly, and programmed in our Calendar of Events. If you are an AWLC member, and would like to participate in any of our outings, please write us at awlcinperu@gmail.com, for more information.
We usually meet at Union Church where we take a bus, and pro-rate the cost among participants. Due to safety issues, the bus leaves from and returns to the Union Church without any extra stops.
The Spice Girls
This international cooking group meets once a month, on a Thursday. We meet in a member’s home or in a professional kitchen to cook communally and prepare lunch.
The idea is to expand our horizons by sharing our favourite recipes, learning new techniques, tasting and sharing food cultures from our home countries or where we have lived.
Ladies that Lunch
Friendship and exploring Peruvian cuisine are the focus for this group!
The group generally meets on the 3rd or 4th Tuesday of every month.
Quilting Group
The quilting group meets the second and fourth Friday of the month from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Wine Club
This group is for members and spouses who would like to learn more about wine, wine tasting and wine pairing in a fun, friendly atmosphere.
We meet once a month between March and November to explore a new, different aspect of wine. Formats vary from month to month.
