History

To provide intellectual and cultural exchange between U.S. citizens and other English-speaking women of diverse backgrounds and interests in an atmosphere of friendship.
Vision: We are a community of women committed to educational advancement, social services and mutual support.

AWLC originally the American Women's Literary Club began in 1922 by a small group of women who were interested in literature.
 
Several new groups have developed as a result of bringing like-minded women together - ranging widely from gardening and flower arranging, to music and theater, as well as civic and philanthropic activities and support for educational projects
